A small street food vendor in Borough Market. You wouldn’t think much of it, but it’s a true unsung hero to the gluten free world.
They serve gluten free and vegetarian food, and all for the very small price of £5.
And I’m telling you, it’s worth it.
They make the food in front of you, as seen in the picture. Making two portions at a time, so you know it’s fresh.
The dosa is made with a potato filling, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. It fills you up quickly and tastes amazing. It’s made from a gluten free mixture, but you’d never guess it.
Then, on the side, chickpeas with onion, pomegranate seeds, and some strange rice like food are served, topped with three sauces, one being yoghurt.
The pomegranate seeds add a sweet burst of flavour every so often, which is surprisingly refreshing. It’s a whirlwind of flavours, perfectly complimented by the sweetness.
I’d really recommend eating here. It’s found almost at the entrance of Borough Market, about halfway down the row of food stalls. So it’s quite easy to miss, but you’d definitely regret missing it.
For such a simple meal, at a very good price, it’s something everyone should try whether you’re looking for specifically gluten free food or you’re just choosing what to eat in London.
